(SAT) D-Day2 Important Info
Warm-up Test
Hello, parents. This is Master Klass.
The test is this Saturday. We have already gone over this with the students, but there are a few things we need you to help with, so we are sending this separately.
Most important: the warm up test
No athlete walks onto the field and starts competing. They warm up first. The brain works the same way. If the first hard question your child sees that day is question one of the real test, they end up using the opening section just to wake up, and that costs them points.
That is why we told them to take a warm up test at home Saturday morning before they leave. This is the single most important thing they can do that morning. Please make sure they do not skip it.
Here is everything else, in order, from Friday through Saturday.
Friday during the day — not a day off
Please do not let your child relax or take the day off just because it is the day before the test. Once they lose that edge, it is hard to get it back the next morning.
That said, they do not need to cram new material. As we explained at orientation, this is the time to study from their Correction Notes.
Friday morning we will provide one additional practice test. Every student gets it, so if your child is not registered for class tomorrow, please make sure they take it at home. After that test, it is Correction Notes review. Going back over the mistakes they have already made is far more valuable right now than doing more new problems.
Friday night — pack the bag
If they pack Saturday morning, something always gets left behind. These are the items students forget most often.
· Admission ticket, printed · Bluebook exam setup completed · College Board username and password, written down · Physical photo ID (a photo on the phone will not work) · Laptop fully charged, plus a charger or power bank · Calculator and spare batteries · Pencils or pens
Leave at home: earbuds, earplugs, smartwatches
Friday night — sleep
No all nighters. Studying until 9 or 10 like any other night and then going to bed is plenty. Think of it the same way you would approach finals. You do not take the day before off, but you do not stay up all night either.
Saturday morning — sample schedule
This is a sample for reference. Arrival times can vary by test center, so please check your child's admission ticket for their actual reporting time, and adjust based on how far you are from the center.
· 6:00 — Wake up, shower, eat · 6:30 to 7:00 — Warm up test · 7:00 — Leave for the center · 7:30 — Arrive, with time to spare · 7:45 — Check-in · 8:00 — Doors close
The critical part is that the doors close at 8:00. If your child is late, they will not be admitted, and they will have to register for a future test date and pay the fee again. Please plan to arrive with time to spare rather than cutting it close.
The preparation is already done. What is left is rest and mindset. If you are anxious at home, your child will feel it. Please send them off calmly.
They have worked incredibly hard all summer. Good results are coming.
Thank you.
